Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Praedium Valuation Group, Joe Wallace, MAI is responsible for the overall company strategy and growth. Upon starting the firm with Sara Chambers, SRA in 2001, Praedium Valuation Group has experienced continuous year-over-year revenue and market share growth. Joe credits this success to a commitment to recruiting and maintaining exceptional individuals, using technology to drive efficiencies, and an ongoing flexibility to redevelop and diversify practice areas.

A specialist in commercial valuations and consulting, Joe focuses on continually improving Praedium’s valuation systems and processes to ensure highly credible and reliable assignment results for Praedium’s diverse client base.  A consummate professional, Joe leads by example, serving as a mentor to the team and demonstrating an ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction.

Joe places a high value on education and is a graduate of the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University where he received his MBA in Finance and Management Strategy. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from North Central College. Joe is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and Licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Illinois. He holds the MAI designation with the Appraisal Institute. His education, certifications, and experience ensure both the business and its clients receive the highest-degree of knowledge and expertise.

Joe has been qualified as an expert witness in circuit court, zoning appeals boards and village planning boards.  Joe has testified regarding a variety of property types including senior housing, medical marijuana facilities, and retail centers.

Joe is also active in professional and civic organizations. A member of the Appraisal Institute, Joe teaches courses and seminars, including the Income Capitalization and Chicago Architecture classes.  He serves as a Candidate Advisor for the Appraisal Institute. He is also a past Board Member of the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and was presented with its Distinguished Service Award for providing outstanding service to the appraisal profession. In addition, Joe is a member of the Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals.

A father of two, Joe volunteers on the local school council. He is also a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation. A life-long resident of Chicago, Joe currently lives with his wife and two children in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago.
